Description
Michelangelo started carving a Pieta when he was in his 70s for his own tomb, but destroyed it before it was finished after working on it for almost a decade. Instead, he got this tomb, designed by Giorgio Visari. Santo Croce was his childhood church.

I felt the stillness when I stood in front of this tomb, as if the art world still has a hole in it.
