Description
Inspired by a petroglyph left by the Freemont People, in what is now the McGonkie Ranch in Vernal Utah. I've always been fascinated with the petroglyphs I see, and I wonder about the stories behind them: who made them, why, who are the people in them, what do they mean, etc. I found a lot of great petroglyphs here and in the Dinosaur National Monument and got a lot of inspiration from them.
This piece is made from a copper plate; hammer textured & formed and patinad with heat; copper wire, and cones from a bald cyprus tree.
