The historic bridge spans the Arno River in Florence, Italy. The Medici family had Gorgio Vasari build the corridor above the bridge, so they can travel from their palace (Palazzo Pitti) to their offices (Uffizi) without mingling with the "little people" on the bridge.

Melany Sarafis served her country for 24 years and recently retired from the USAF as a First Sergeant. I've have been an avid photographer for a few years and enjoy this "internal" creative process and I was a full time student at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Tx, pursuing a BFA in Studio Arts with an emphasis in Photography and Jewelry/Metalsmith Work. After taking an Art History course and learning a little about the Renaissance, I've become enamored with this art era. I took a trip to Florence Italy (the home of the Renaissance)...
